Moorpark House - Kilbirnie

The staff were very helpful even though we were the only people staying there and made you feel very welcome

The decor was beautiful and the function rooms were spacious.

The downstairs could have been warmer. The breakfast took 45 mins to arrive and not as ordered, hash browns still frozen. Another coffee ordered never arrived. Nobody to carry luggage when we arrived.

It was a very relaxing stay.We had our Civil Partnership at the Moorpark on the 1st August 2008,and had a wonderful time.

The whole ambience of the hotel it was fantastic

Rooms were of a very high standard.

There was no evening meal available so i would class this as a B&B and most certainly not a hotel. The staff were more interested in answering the telephone than dealing with the customer that was talking to them.

The owner admitted to me, that he no longer specializes in daily room rates, but mainly weddings, due to this it is only himself, and one over who runs the place, with no restaurant on site, i had to drive 5 miles up the road to find some where to eat.

This was no fault of the hotel, and thankfully they had the room since i had driven 5 hours to get their, but on arrival they had no record of me booking in, on line or otherwise.

the adjacent buildings on the town side

Beautiful country house. The owner is targetting the Wedding market and the location is perfect. As we booked lastminute we were the only people staying at the hotel which was delightful. However you would be best to avaid the hotel if a Wedding Party was booked in.

The style of the hotel and the facility

despite being advised there was a restaurant in the hotel we arrived to be told we needed to have pre-booked the chef and therefore had to travel to the local town for an evening meal
